February--Check!

I guess it's only fitting that the shortest month out of the year should go by the quickest, but holy cow! February sure came and went awfully quickly!

Since the last post, Jaime went on another trip with the church-this time she took the Confirmation Classes to Camp LuWiSoMo in Wild Rose, WI. It was a great weekend with 23 kids and 4 adults! We had some class time, but we also had time for broomball on the lake (after one of the dad's cleared it off with a snowblower he had at his cabin close by!), ice fishing, cross country skiing, and tubing!

While Jaime was with the Confirmation Class, Steve had a guys weekend. Right before Jaime left, her brother called to say that he was coming up with her dad and uncle because he had bought a new car, and the car was up here! They got in about 3:30 Saturday morning, and picked the car up later that afternoon. They celebrated by going to the Admirals hockey game and Mike christened his new Jeep by plowing through the huge mound of snow that the plow left in front of our driveway. Unfortunately, they all had to leave before Jaime made it back in town, but he did send us some pictures from St. Louis.

We hope that March has good things in store for all of you!

Time Flies!

Holy moly, it's hard to believe we're already half-way through February! We're not sure where the time has gone! February has been a busy month for us so far!

Last weekend, Jaime took a group of junior high kids from church to Youth Quake in the Wisconsin Dells. They had a great time, and enjoyed spending some time studying God's Word. The main speaker had the phrase, "Eternity Matters Most" and had us remember that a person's salvation should be the most important thing to us as Christians. It was a wonderful weekend, filled with a lot of laughs, a lot of praise, and a lot of yawns! The 2 hour car ride home was definitly a quiet one after spending some time in the waterpark before we left on Sunday!

Here's our group that went with us. We stopped at the Moosejaw for pizza for lunch on Saturday.
While Jaime was in the Dells, Steve spent the weekend re-decorating our main bathroom. With some Christmas money we had received, we decided to re-paint the walls, get a new shower curtain, add new fixtures, and get all new "accent stuff" (rug, soap pump, etc.). We're pretty excited about the way it all turned out! Jaime is in the process of making some artwork to hang up on the one wall, and as soon as that's dry, we'll give you a sneak peak of that as well!

The end of the month seems like it will go as fast as the first half did! Jaime is taking a the 7th and 8th grade Confirmation classes to Camp LuWiSoMo for their Confirmation Retreat. She's also in the process of putting together a small seminar on the different social networking sites (Facebook, MySpace, etc.), and Steve is busy making plans for his trip to Phoenix in the middle of March. He's heading out there with some friends from St. Louis, and they're going to get the chance to visit with some other friends, as well as Steve's family. They're even going to be able to check out a Brewers vs. Cubs pre-season game! (That gives Jaime hope that Spring is just around the corner! Not to mention the fact that it means it won't be that much longer before the Cardinals will be back up in Milwaukee!)

We hope you all had a wonderful Valentine's Day!

A True Wisconsinite?

We're trying to figure out if we've become true Wisconsinites yet...leave us your comments and let us know what you think!

This Sunday I came home from church and proclaimed to Steve, "Holy cow, it's pretty warm outside!" Knowing that it was still "cool", but definitly warmer than what it has been, I said, "How about if we open up the windows just a bit to get some fresh air in here?" Steve agreed. About 15 minutes later our teeth were chattering and we (wisely) decided to close the windows. After a quick check of the weather channel, we discovered that it was 33 degrees out! Does believing that 33 degrees is warm enough to crack the windows for some fresh air make us true Wisconsinites?
