A St. Louis Weekend

We were able to head down to St. Louis this past weekend to spend some time celebrating our families.

Jaime's brother Mike celebrated his 26th birthday at The Old Spaghetti Factory. Jaime's 8 month old godchild was also able to come help celebrate! Because she is a foster child (under the care of Jaime's cousin, Ruth), please understand that we're not going to put any pictures of her on our website. But trust us, she's stinkin' cute!

Mike also helped to put together a Winter Classic Hockey day in Clayton, MO. There were quite a few hockey games, all of which were played on an outdoor ice rink. We all braved the cold to watch Oakville (Jaime's old high school) take on Francis Howell North. Oakville won!

Jaime's Great Uncle Bob and Great Aunt Mildred celebrated their 60th (!!!) Wedding Anniversary with a party. We were blessed to be able to spend part of the day with them! We're hoping for a 65th party!

Here's the whole Theismann gang.

We also were able to spend some time with the Greene side of the family, celebrating the life of Steve's Uncle (and Godfather) John Michael. He passed away on 1-21-09, and was given a military burial this past Monday. We were glad to be able to spend some time with the cousins!

New Windows!

It seems rather depressing to us that this is what is exciting in our lives, but we got new windows! Since the age of the windows that were in our house when we bought it were older than we are combined, we figured it would be a good investment for us to put in some new ones. And since neither one of us felt comfortable enough tackling that home improvement project ourselves, we decided to hire it out. After talking with several different companies, we found one that we liked and set up our order. The windows were installed this past Monday, and we're THRILLED!! They look great, and we're hoping to see some improvements in our oh-so-scary energy bills!

And yes, that is grass that you see! But don't worry...we got 2 inches or so last night, so it's covered back up again!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

It's been a bit since we've posted, but we still wanted to wish everyone a Blessed Christmas and a Happy New Year! We hope that you've all recovered from the festivities and excitement of the holidays!

We had a fantastic Christmas in St. Louis! Not even a bout with the stomach flu could slow us down! Here's some highlights from our vacation...

Being the ever-equipped new home-owner, Steve got a new toolbox and tools!

With us, it's always a Packers Christmas! Jaime's brother Mike gave her the Santa hat, and Jaime gave Mike the gnome.

Our friend Craig had never been to Lambert's restaraunt before, so the day after Christmas we loaded up in a van and took a day trip 2 hours south to Sikeston, MO for lunch! Here's Jaime's brother Mike showing off what Lambert's is all about! Monsterly huge drinks and HOT ROLLS!

And since it's now apparently 60 degrees in St. Louis over Christmas, we thought the perfect way to spend the day (after a huge meal at Lambert's) was at a winery! This winery is in Ste Genevieve, and it's in a cave! We didn't get to spend too much time there, just enough to enjoy some of their samples. For those of you in the St. Louis area who haven't been to it, we would recommend it! It's called The Cave Winery (clever, I know!)
